Google Maps Now Shows Floor Plans

Go to Google Maps, search for San Francisco, and zoom in. Way, way in. Look at the airport, or Macy’s, or the Westfield Center (pictured). Google Maps is now showing you every shop inside select buildings, with their new floor plans feature. There are already over 10,000 plans uploaded across the world, and you can add your own.

“There are 22 airport floor plans available to view, including all of San Francisco International Airport. There’s also shopping malls, casinos, hospitals, landmarks, libraries, museums, retail establishments, restaurants, sports venues, and more. A special feature lets you switch between levels.”~Curbed SF

Pretty cool, no? The feature is unlikely to include residential buildings, for security and privacy reasons, but for seeing what’s near your home and exactly how to get there, it’s a useful tool.
