Off The Grid Extending To The Presidio

View of the Bay from the Presidio's Main Post

Off the Grid is coming to the Presidio, sans food trucks. (Well, mostly).

Picnic at the Presidio, launching Sunday, Oct. 7 at the lawn on the Main Post, will be an outdoor food hall of sorts, featuring stands from popular San Francisco restaurants like Nopalito, Bar Crudo, Chotto, Wexlers and Wing Wing. Yes, there will be food trucks — Del Popolo’s massive pizza-mobile among them — but they’ll be only a tiny part of the offerings.
Instead, Off the Grid plans to have food available in individual and family-sized portions, with additional vendors selling syrups, hot sauces, pickled items, fresh fruits and vegetables. The idea is to mix-and-match everything you need for a picnic, then relax and enjoy the Bay views from your blanket. You can even have cocktails brought to said blanket, and rent everything from the blanket itself to equipment for bocce ball, croquet and horseshoes. We hear troubadours are involved, too.

OFF THE GRID FORT MASON

I had a chance to visit Off The Grid at Fort Mason on Friday and I was blown away with how many food trucks were selling. The smells wafted around the area surrounded by the gourmet vendors .  From Asian themed Samurai Pockets to Mexican taco trucks, this place had it all.
